Navigating UF Campus

UF’s campus is expansive, but all Gatormun activities (except Closing Ceremony) occur within the core of campus located in the northeast corner, pictured in the map above. Once on campus, everything is easily walkable.

The interior of UF’s campus is very pedestrian friendly. There is a campus-wide speed limit of 20 mph, and there are no major roads traversing the section of campus containing GatorMUN activities. Additionally, on Friday evenings and throughout the weekend, there is little to no car traffic.

Please be aware that there is active construction at UF, and the zones highlighted in red are inaccessible.

The majority of committees are located in the Reitz Student Union, marked with a star on the map. This is the home base for GatorMUN operations during conference weekend. The Reitz has many entrances, including through the UF bookstore.

Due to demand that outstrips the capacity of the Reitz Union, several committees will meet outside the Reitz in UF classrooms. The Computer Science and Engineering building, Little Hall, and Matherly Hall will be used during GatorMUN XXI, and are labeled on the map with brown arrows. You can find exact room assignments in the delegate handbook.

Opening Ceremony, as always, will be in the University Auditorium. It is marked with a purple circle on the map. Delegations attending the livestreamed Opening Ceremony due to capacity limitations in the University Auditorium will be in Turlington Hall room L007, which is marked with a blue circle.

Closing Ceremony for GatorMUN XXI will be in the Phillips Center. It is marked with a blue triangle on the zoomed out map below. While still on campus and therefore accessible on foot, it is about a 40 minute walk from the Reitz Union, which is why we would recommend driving to it. There is more than sufficient parking over there, and after the ceremony ends, delegations can easily walk out to their cars and head home.

Parking on Campus

After 4:30pm on Friday, most parking restrictions on campus are lifted for the weekend. There is plenty of parking along museum road, including a parking garage connected to the Reitz Union, where most GatorMUN committees are held. If the Reitz garage (purple) was full, any of the other parking lots highlighted in orange also offer free parking the whole weekend.

Before 4:30pm, the Reitz garage is paid and the orange lots are not available.

Information for the Reitz garage on Friday afternoon before 4:30pm:

Charter buses can be parked throughout the weekend in a lot accessible from Memorial Road or Hull Road, circled on the map below. It is located behind Fifield Hall.

Before being parked, there is a bus loop behind the Reitz where delegations can be dropped off, called Reitz Union Drive, but buses cannot park in that location.
