United Nations Security Council (UNSC)

Directed By: Ken Nava

About:
Ken Nava (He/Him) is a second-year student at Florida International University pursuing a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations, with certificates in Middle Eastern Studies, African & African Diaspora Studies, and Political Transitions & Human Rights. Kenny was introduced to Model UN in middle school and has been competing for nearly ten years. He even is a two-time Outstanding Delegate at GatorMUN both years he competed in high school. He has been in nearly every type of committee—though General Assembly committees with a human rights or humanitarian focus, specifically on the topic of Africa, will always remain his favorite. Ken has won many awards, but most pertinent here is him winning Best Delegate and the gavel at UF's college conference in the UNHRC, chaired by GatorMUN Secretary-General this year, Suriya.
At FIU, Ken currently serves as the Director-General of FIMUN 38, the university’s high school Model UN conference. Outside MUN, you’ll likely find him hanging out on campus with his fraternity brothers or his other friends. He’s passionate about fitness—always dancing, lifting, or swimming—and is an avid sports fan. He especially loves college football, follows Ben Shelton religiously, and never misses a rugby match. During downtime, Ken enjoys drawing and sit down with a book—his favorite being The Catcher in the Rye.
