*This is a dual delegation committee.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has become a household name since the onset of Covid-19. However, since its establishment in 1948, WHO has created six regional bodies focusing on international public health initiatives. Worldwide they have addressed health topics ranging from vaccinations to mental health. This year we have chosen to focus on the topics of Examining Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Addressing Foodborne Illnesses. With some statistics showing every 1 in 54 children having ASD and over 400,000 deaths from foodborne illnesses each year, it is evident that these topics need to be discussed. Keeping this in mind it is important to look at what has already been done in terms of the two topics in order to better grasp what should be done in the future. As a dual delegation committee for beginners, a large emphasis will be placed on teaching delegates parliamentary procedures and encouraging debate.
