The Court of Casimir IV, King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania Director: Olin William Calvin
After years of negotiation, Casimir Jagiellon, Grand Duke of Lithuania, accepted the Polish throne, succeeding his brother Vladislaus III, who perished in battle against the Ottoman Turks. But Casimir's position is far from secure. Between the Ottoman Empire, the Russian duchies, the Kalmar Union, the Holy Roman Empire, and knights of the Teutonic and Livonian Orders, the fledgling union is beset on all sides by potential friends and enemies. Thus Casimir has called a council of his most trusted advisers from both Lithuania and Poland to plot a course for his realm that will not only survive, but flourish amid the chaos of the fifteenth century.
