Lost City of Angkor: Royal Court of Devaraja Suryavarman II
Director: Himani Gubbi

The year is 1113 A.D., and Suryavarman II has killed his great uncle in battle to ascend as Devaraja, translated God-king, of the Khmer Empire. Seeing a weakening reign under his predecessor, Suryavarman II wanted to see the empire grow to new heights and glory over Southeast Asia. With numerous other Indianized states and the neighboring Đại Việt, Suryavarman II wanted to establish the Khmer Empire as a dominant force in the region. His devotion to his religion, Hinduism, also drove him to unite the kingdom under his divine rule, his legacy being the builder of the Angkor Wat, the largest religious structure in the world. As members of his royal court, this committee will serve to direct the empire according to the Devaraja’s wishes from the capital of Angkor, unifying vassal states and commanding the army to conquer his enemies while building public works projects and maintaining a flourishing nation. Delegates must be prepared for crises including threats from other empires, civil unrest, and ensuring diplomatic relations. Uncover the mysteries and treasures, lost in history, of the powerful Khmer Empire.
