The French Revolution was one of Europe’s greatest political, religious, and socioeconomic upheavals and its implications are still felt in Western society today. Many compare the French Revolution to its American counterpart and criticize it for being more harmful to its citizens and for ultimately replacing one monarchy with another; however, none question that the French Revolution was certainly the more groundbreaking of the two. Le Comité de Salut Public (the Committee of Public Safety) presided over the revolution at the height of revolutionary fervor. Delegates of this committee will have to work together to defend the ideals of la République Française from its enemies while simultaneously maintaining effective governance over the nation. Bienvenue à la Révolution!
