The International Trade Union Confederation is the world’s largest trade confederation. It was founded on Nov. 1, 2006, out of a merger between the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions and the World Confederation of Labor. The ITUC has three main regional organizations: the Asia-Pacific Regional Organization, the American Regional Organization and the African Regional Organization. In November 2019, the ITUC had over 200 million members in 332 affiliated organizations in 163 countries and territories. The ITUC focuses to address and solve issues of unequal oppurutnites and protections in the workplace, child labor, union rights, migration and development.
This single-delegate general assembly will be composed of affiliate organizations under the ITUC. Delegates will be working collaboratively to create resolutions that address the successful implementation of trade unions in developing member states, and discuss how equal opportunities for disabled workers can be achieved. All labor is valuable, and it is necessary that the labor of all workers is protected internationally.
